Remember that Trump used to be a Democrat not that long ago — if you look at his history his actual values are a lot more moderate than what’s been displayed on the media as of the late. But he is a businessman and opportunist first and foremost, so shifting his values for the sake of a sale is par the course for him. It’s kind of strange to me that people were speculating earlier that he was just saying whatever people wanted to hear to get elected but that part of the narrative disappeared somewhere in between — that story made the most sense to me at the time, even now. Over time, people started to believe that he actually believed in the things he was saying, even though they weren’t taking anything he was saying seriously in the beginning.

The election could’ve been better — I mean, a LOT better, in so many ways it’s hard to know where to start. But it’s not going to be as bad as a lot of people think. What we’re experiencing right now is a heightened sense of drama that’s been exaggerated by media and technology, which capitalizes on political polarization in order to generate views.

Now that Trump won I’m starting to see the fear in his eyes — I honestly don’t think he had even put any thought into the idea of what he’s actually going to do if he actually managed to win. What comes next? Well, we have a president now that has no idea what he’s doing, whom we may be able to mold in our own image as his “customers”. That’s capitalism at work, for ya.
