Andrew Yang Talks About Housing, NIMBY-ism: What This Means for Housing Politics
Ever since Andrew Yang’s tweet on his zoning policies, I’ve been having a lot of very good conversations about housing issues around the US that I’m really grateful for. I was talking to my friend about it today but I’ve gotten used to people yelling or ostracizing me for bringing up these issues so it felt like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders knowing that there were people out there who really “gets it”.
Andrew Yang’s zoning policy was the whole reason why I got involved with his campaign to begin with (it’s so similar to the YIMBY outlook that I swear he stole it from us) and when I saw him at the fundraiser event last week it was really nice to hear it confirmed! Thanks again to Yang for bringing up this very important issue.
What does this mean for #YIMBY and the #YangGang, however? One, there’s a lot of overlap in sympathies/outlook between the two groups, so we should definitely be trying to create and maintain…
